The immersive language learning game, Influent, is coming to mobile this month on October 20th, 2021. The game was originally released on Steam in 2014 and has since proceeded to receive very positive reviews. Players have said that this game, though it will not make you fluent from start to finish, is ideal for vocabulary development in tandem with other language learning methods. Influent will only be available on iOS devices.

Influent works by placing the player in a 3D environment with hundreds of objects that are available to interact with. These objects will have many words attached to them including nouns, verbs, and adjectives that are associated with the object and its description. Once these words have been assembled, a longer vocabulary list can then be created and studied from there. The player can choose which words they want to focus on. For example, if you know that you are very familiar with how to talk about chairs in your selected language, then you would not choose to learn about chairs, but instead, about another object you may not know as well. This gives the player the ability to customize their learning experience.
Twenty different languages will be available to learn on the mobile platform. French, Italian, and Korean will be available in the base game for free, with the option to add other languages for the price of $3.99 each. Additional languages include English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Swedish, Latin, European Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Hindi, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Dutch, Polish, and Welsh. The developers, Three Flip Studios, have been working to add new features to the mobile version such as the ability to integrate with discord, a new way to track progress, and new languages.
