Konami’s Eden Zero Debuted at Tokyo Game Show

Eden Zero is a popular manga running from 2018 to today, recently Konami picked up the license to create a game based on the property. While Eden Zero was announced earlier this month, Konami showed off the first parts of the game during Konami’s panel at the Tokyo Game Show. The game leans heavily into its source material, along with taking inspiration for its art philosophy from other anime games such as Fairy Tale or Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet.

Eden Zero is also an RPG game that will be valuing character customization along with the more typical character growth that is a cornerstone of all games that dabble into the RPG genre. The combat system is being divided into two main forms, with the more traditional ground-based combat that every game is used to having. Eden Zero is also have extended aerial combat, something that the manga is famous for.

Konami is planning on adding more costumes into game that have not been used in the source material, as the game is meant to add to the manga’s lore. The game is being developed for both consoles and for mobile devices, and being developed alongside the Eden Zero anime. With the video game’s debut, Eden Zero has its own website launched that details the game, anime, and manga as the development continues to go along.

Eden Zero is expected to finishing out and should be releasing later in December. Along with the website, Eden Zero is launching a fan campaign on Twitter for fans to submit their original characters and art work that can be fleshed out either in the game or anime as the development continues. This will be the first campaign that will feature fan generated content, and the team is expecting to implement three to five unique characters.

Griffin Gilman: Gaming may very well be half of my personality, so it is only natural that I write about them. The best genre is RPGs, while the best game is Nier Automata. That's not an opinion but a matter of facts.
