As with many game genres, horror games always run the risk of feeling repetitive or too similar to other games currently available due to similar threats and theming. This is not an issue for the upcoming KLETKA, a co-op horror game where the main focus lies in satisfying an omnivorous elevator within a massive, dangerous prison. Developed by Callback and In404, the game had previously been expected to release fully at the end of 2025 but required delays that left some fans wondering when the full experience would be available. Today, the team showed off the release date trailer for the game, confirming an early 2026 launch.
The building that the game is named after, KLETKA, is a Gigastructure prison where the most dangerous criminals are sent to. As one of the prisoners, players are tasked with maintaining the hungry elevator that will guide them deeper into the building. The Steam store page goes into greater detail, nothing that the elevator requires food with each floor, forcing players to go out and look for fuel before they are eaten. The structure itself is endless, complete with different biomes and challenges that players will face using an array of weapons. One of these challenges, an anomaly named Samosbor, is claimed to be unstoppable. When the siren signal’s its arrival, players are forced to flee or die.
The game also offers the ability to play with friends in co-op, for a total of up to six players. These extra players can either help gather additional resources to feed the elevator or be turned on to allow everyone else to move on.
Fresh concepts are especially welcome in the horror genre, which can occasionally default into similar foes and threats. KLETKA promises to offer a unique goal and way of progressing forward. The game is set to release on February 19th for console and PC.
