Ironhide Game Studio is set to release Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis TD on September 24, 2026. The latest entry in the tower defense series is available for pre-order on the App Store for $6.99 and will also launch on other platforms.
This installment is prequel. Players travel back to the early days of Linirea to recruit the heroes who helped build the kingdom and stop a younger version of Vez’nan. The story revisits familiar lands from the original Kingdom Rush at a time when its legends were first being forged, uncovering the hidden history of the realm’s downfall. Full details are available on the official game page and Kingdom Rush Genesis site.
The gameplay consists of the classic tower defense system with refinements. There are 15 towers including archers, mages, barracks, and artillery. Each has its own specialty, and winning depends on combining them effectively. Players can take two of 12 legendary heroes into each battle and synergize their abilities. Familiar Linirean champions return alongside new faces. Nine powerful spells, including meteor showers and reinforcements, can be equipped and unleashed at key moments. A revamped upgrade system gives every tower and hero its own upgrade tree, and players can pick abilities and retune them between stages. The campaign features 18 handcrafted stages across three landscapes of early Linirea, from the Citadel to the Stormcloud Depths and the lands of Arcania. Expect more than 40 enemies from five distinct races and six colossal bosses.
The game includes harder modes, over 50 achievements, and hidden easter eggs. It supports offline play, so no internet connection is required. Ironhide has kept the series’ signature humor and lore callbacks intact while expanding the story. When Kingdom Rush 6: Genesis TD arrives later this month, longtime fans will get the chance to battle through the past to save the future. Wishlist or pre-order options are also listed on Steam.
