Kain Heinlein Returns to Fatal Fury and Brings the Season 1 DLC Lineup With Him

Well it finally happened, after several months of waiting the final boss from Garou: Mark of the Wolves has finally arrived in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Kain Heinlein has returned and he brought his charge motions with him.

Kain is probably one of the more anticipated returning characters to Mark of the Wolves’ sequel. If you missed out on the EVO Awards that occurred over the weekend the good news is you didn’t miss much. But what you did miss was the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves exhibition (as well as the Marvel vs. Capcom 2 exhibition) but luckily you can view that here:

For Kain specifically, it looks like he retains all of his legacy moves as well as his gameplan. Kain is, first and foremost, a zoner. People liken him to Guile from Street Fighter and that comparison wouldn’t be wholly inaccurate. Like Guile, Kain has charge motions as well as very oppressive projectiles to control the screen. He’s also equipped with a slow moving ball super from his old Mark of the Wolves moveset, which everyone remembers is just downright oppressive. Funnily enough, Kain was considered one of the best characters in Mark of the Wolves and Hellpockets, one of the commentators for the City of the Wolves exhibition, said that it seemed like they removed what few weaknesses he had which is hilarious.

Also from the EVO Awards is the full list of Season 1 DLC characters. Ken and Chun Li, guests from Street Fighter, have already been discussed and teased and joining them are Fatal Fury vets Andy Bogard, Mr. Big, and Joe Higashi. An interesting assortment of characters because, while they are Fatal Fury characters, they’re new additions to the Wolves section of the franchise so it’ll be interesting to see how they play.
