Today, Jupiter revealed a new puzzle game to be added to their line-up called Picross: Lord of the Nazarick. The game itself is based on the light novel, manga series, and anime series, Overlord. The game will follow the adventures of Ainz Ooal Gown as he solves puzzles with his faithful servants and unlocks new memories.
Overlord is a light novel and manga series under the Isekai genre, in which a person is either reincarnated or transferred to another world through some fantastical means. The main character of the series is Momonga, named Ainz Ooal Gown in the VRMMO game YGDRASSIL. He falls asleep while in the game on the day the servers are to be permanently shut down only to find that not only does the game still exist, but he can also no longer log out. He leaves his resting place of The Great Tomb of Nazarick, his guild hall, to discover that the world of the game has skipped to several centuries later. The series follows his adventures as he travels this new world and discovers how the world of YGDRASSIL has changed, and he decides to explore this new world as the Overlord of The Great Tomb of Nazarick. The game will follow the adventures of Ainz Ooal Gown as you solve puzzles alongside his faithful companions.
Picross: The Lord of Nazarick features 519 puzzles and four different modes: Picross, Mega Picross, Color Picross, and Clip Picross. Unlike Pokémon Picross and other Picross crossover titles, Picross: The Lord of Nazarick will be more connected to the actual story of the series it is tied to. When the player completes puzzles, they unlock images from the Overlord Series and new subsequent puzzles. The game will be available on the Nintendo Switch and will be distributed worldwide on July 25, 2019.
