Appropriately, a new Paris stage was also revealed during the event. The trailer shows Ryo and Kenshiro battling it out in the city, showcasing both of the fighters flashy combos and abilities. Ryo, from City Hunter, is a private detective who takes it upon himself to “sweep” the city of all lawbreakers, along with his partner, Makimura. Kenshiro, from Fist of the North Star, is a wandering martial artists in a post-apocalyptic that has been ruined by nuclear war. As the successor to the deadly fighting style known as Hokuto Shinken, Kenshiro can defeat his opponents with rapid-style punches while also attacking their vital points.
In addition, the company also revealed the official box art for the game, which features Monkey D. Luffy, Goku, and Naruto, who are arguably the most recognizable Shonen Jump characters in history. Bandai Namco has been adding fighters left and right since the game was announced at E3 2018. They’ve already included two Saint Seiya fighters, Pegasus Seiya and Dragon Shiryu, as well as two fighters from the Yu Yu Hakusho series, Yuseke Urameshi and Togoro. Before that, they revealed other fighters from the One Piece universe, such as Sabo, Sanji, and Marshall D. Teach aka Blackbeard, as well as Gon Freecss and Hisoka Morrow from Hunter X Hunter and Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach.
This really is turning into every Shonen Jump fan’s dream fighting game, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it. As mentioned earlier, Jump Force will launch on February 19, 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. You can check out Ryo and Kenshiro’s reveal trailer here:
