Grab some friends and some snacks and get ready for a night of party games and rude words because the latest Jackbox Party Pack is on its way. As far as party games go, this one has it down pat. If you have never heard of the games before, basically, it works by one player hosting the game on their system and everyone can join in with their smartphones. There is also the option for other people to join in as part of an audience.
The pack itself contains five games: Quiplash 2, Guesspionage, Tee K.O., Trivial Murder Party, and Fakin’it. This is a departure from the last party pack which had a different set of games including the popular Fibbage 2.
Quiplash 2 is a sequel to the popular game of the same name and tasks players with answering prompts in the funniest, or, let’s be honest, dirtiest way possible. Except now according to Jackbox on the PlayStation Blog players will be able to censor offensive answers and audience members. They have also added custom prompts and an all new final round.
On the game’s website, it says that Guesspionage is a “polling game based on answers from the audience”. Tee K.O. is another new game where players design t-shirts and make them battle each other. Fakin’it is a game where you accuse players of being cheaters. Lastly, much like the name suggests Trivial Murder Party is a trivia game hosted by a murderer.
On the website, Warren Arnold said that the hardest part about game design is picking a good release date. Which is why there will be two; Jackbox Party Pack 3 will be out on PS4 on October 18th and Xbox One on October 21st. The game will also come out for PC and Amazon Fire TV but a release date wasn’t specified.
