It’s A Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s Infinite Crisis!

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, through its developer Turbine, Inc., and Major League Gaming (MLG), the world’s largest eSports league and online multiplayer platform, today announced a partnership to introduce Infinite Crisis to the competitive gaming universe. In closed beta now, Infinite Crisis is a free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena game set in the DC Multiverse. That means players can strap on their capes and briefs as they get comfortable playing as classic characters like Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman to wreak some havoc on maps with destructible environments. Or if they choose, take a darker approach and pick up characters like the Joker, Poison Ivy, and Doomsday.

Through the partnership of both Turbine and Major League Gaming, there’s going to be an introduction of the game to both the MLG and eSports community that would then develop competitive settings and showcase the game at future eSports and gaming events. The end goal of it all is to ultimately include Infinite Crisis at the MLG Pro Circuit Championships.

The partnership kicks off at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, also known as E3, at the Los Angeles Convention Center from June 11-13, where top teams Complexity and Curse Academy will compete live from the Warner Bros. Games Booth. The action will then be streamed on MLG’s website as well as the official Infinite Crisis webpage.

Playable Champions can currently originate from one of five different universes in the DC Multiverse. Additionally, Champion names incorporate their origin universe. For example, Nightmare Batman originates from the Nightmare universe, also known as Earth-43.

Infinite Crisis will be the first original title from Turbine since Warner Bros. purchased the company and will also be the first game from the company which isn’t a massive multiplayer online role-playing game.
