Ironhide Game Studio, developer behind the popular mobile Kingdom Rush saga, on Thursday announced Iron Marines Invasion, a new real-time strategy game. This is the second installment in the series, building off the success of the original Iron Marines game which is currently available on the Google Play and App Stores. Iron Marines Invasion will launch later this year, with pre-registration open now.
Ironhide Game Studio released a teaser trailer for Iron Marines Invasion, revealing the return of Federation heroes after 5 years of peace, which is also the time since the first game launched. The Iron Marines games are real-time strategy Sci-Fi adventures where players are tasked with protecting their base from malicious alien creatures using sophisticated defense towers, troops and other weapons of destruction. In Iron Marines Invasion, there will be 9 powerful heroes with 8 special weapons to boost army tactics along with 40 upgrades to improve strategy and further empower units with defense drones, napalm rockets and much more.
Each unit can now be combined as their unique fighting skills are called upon in the heat of battle with 9 unit groups for a total of 27 different troops. These skills include rangers, snipers, mechas, missile launchers and fearsome alien warrior clans. The game also features over 25 campaign missions and 70 special operations where Iron Marines can be upgraded to the peak level. There will also be daily challenges and rewards.
The first Iron Marines game was a major success, awarded with accolades including the App Store’s Top #1 Paid App, Google Play’s 2017 Android Excellence Award and the 2018 winner of the BIG Festival’s Best Latin American Game, among several others. Iron Marines Invasion adopts much of the same playstyle with even more content. One major addition will be an in-game Encyclopedia to understand the worlds and enemies as the game progresses. There is no official release date for Iron Marines Invasion, though information on the App Store points to an expected release of November 3, 2022.
