Marvel’s Iron Man VR is finally set to release for PS4 on July 3rd, as said in a recent tweet from the official PlayStation Twitter account. Along with this, they said that more “details to be coming in the future.”
The game was set to release in March of 2019 but was pushed back due to programming complications as the developers said they wanted to “deliver on our vision” as said by SIE. It was again pushed back in April due to COVID-19. Like The Last of Us Part II, Sony removed Iron Man VR from the PlayStation Store and the release calendar.
In the game, players are playing from the perspective of inventor Tony Stark as he is attacked by Ghost (who first made her MCU appearance in Ant-Man and the Wasp). To complete the main story, players are expected to fight and face different Iron Man villains on separate missions to save the world.
As told in the official description, aspects of speed, flight directions, and use of different angles can be adjusted to give each individual an enjoyable experience. Other key features of the game include the use of Playstation Move motion controllers to use Iron Man’s Repulsor Jets, and the ability to travel to Tony Stark’s garage to customize different Iron Man suits and upgrades.
Currently, Iron Man VR is priced at $39.99 USD for the standard edition and $49.99 USD for the deluxe edition (which includes four different types of armor, a special soundtrack, and other cosmetic extras). Like Iron Man VR, The Last of Us Part II received a new release date along with going gold since its second delay.
