Ion Fury Comes to Console

Old-school first-person shooter Ion Fury, developed by Voidpoint and published by 3D Realms and 1C Entertainment finally comes to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch a year after its PC debut. Ion Fury gains its inspirations from the shooters of the late nineties that built the first-person shooter genre. Ion Fury even uses the same engine behind Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior. While Ion Fury uses familiar pixelated graphics, it does feature some new quality of life additions that have never been seen on a game running The Build engine. This addition includes headshots, auto-saves, widescreen support, and an expanded take on verticality. Ion Fury’s maps will place emphasis on exploration and finding collectibles.

“We couldn’t be more excited to bring this classic FPS into the hands of console players worldwide. Ion Fury is a perfect example of how the beloved features of ‘90s shooters blend together with modern technology to provide a unique experience,” said Nikolay Baryshnikov, CEO of 1C Entertainment.

Ion Fury is a futuristic cyberpunk shooter. The player takes control of Global Defense Force bomb specialist Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison as she attempts to take back Neo D.C. from  Doctor Jadus Heskel and his cultist military. Staying in line with Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior, Ion Fury focuses on rapid combat featuring a large arsenal of weapons with gory kills and large explosions.

Ion Fury is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch for $24.99 / €24,99 / £19,99 with support for English, French, German, Russian, and Spanish voice and text. PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch will be getting physical releases worldwide on June 26th for an additional five dollars. So far Xbox One will not have a physical copy. The PC edition is available on Epic and Steam, with physical copies and a deluxe edition available on the Ion Fury website.

Griffin Gilman: Gaming may very well be half of my personality, so it is only natural that I write about them. The best genre is RPGs, while the best game is Nier Automata. That's not an opinion but a matter of facts.
