It’s been two years since Insomniac announced that they working on a Spider-Man title for the PlayStation 4. Since the initial reveal during E3 2016 we have received a good amount of gameplay, story elements, as well as a look at the current Peter Parker we will be taking control of. As for the game’s release, all we currently know is that it is slated to be coming sometime this year.
All of the trailers we have received confirm this, but all of them lack a more specific release window. However, recently developer Insomniac has confirmed that the official release date for Spider-Man will be revealed tomorrow April 4, as part of the May issue of Game Informer. The full release date will be announced at 8 AM PT tomorrow when the digital version of Game Informer’s May issue will become available.
This issue of Game Informer boasts about 14 pages of details dedicated to the upcoming open-world title including information about the environment, missions, side quest, villains, and collectibles. In addition to this, the issue will also contain new information on controls, combat, upgrades, and even a customization and suit crafting system.
There was also a new trailer released in light of the announcement showcasing some brand new footage of the web slinger’s exciting combat moves and fluid web swinging around Insomniac’s version of Manhattan to get fans hyped for the game on top of the impending news flood. Now they only have a few hours to wait until they know the official release date for the highly anticipated title
