Mullins begins the game’s description by saying that “Inscryption is an inky black card-based odyssey that’s part deck-building roguelike, part escape-room puzzler and part psychological horror.” He then continues to say “What starts out as a devilish deck-builder soon becomes something altogether different, but I’ll leave you to discover its darkest secrets for yourself.”
Players begin the game trapped by a sadistic stranger known as Leshy, who then grants a chance to escape if they utilize a special deck of cards. Players must then expand their deck of creatures to defeat Leshy. When not directly playing at the card table against Leshy, players can search around the cabin and solve puzzles to gain an advantage when returning to the table. Each game mode requires everyone to be strategic and plan out how they can defeat Leshy and gain freedom.
In addition to general gameplay comes some Playstation-exclusive features! First, the talking Stoat card will play audio directly from the controller to make it seem as if it is really in players’ hands. Secondly, the game’s lighting will actually come from the controller as well, which will make the game even more realistic for those choosing to play the game in the dark.
Although Inscryption does not have a release date for PlaySation consoles, the release will surely be highly anticipated as there is information.
