The ongoing closed data for superhero fighting game Injustice 2 will be closing on February 21 according to developer NetherRealm, who made the announcement today.
“Thanks to all of our players who took part in the Injustice 2 online beta,” reads a line from a Warner Bros. statement announcing the end of the beta. “We received a great deal of data that will help make the launch of our online modes the best they can be. Now it is time to get busy implementing the changes. That means, unfortunately, we will be turning off the beta on Tuesday, February 21. Get your games in this weekend!”
NetherRealm Creative Director Ed Boon, confirmed the news on his Twitter page, which includes a pun for pun enthusiasts.
The next new character will be confirmed on February 23. The previous character confirmation was Swamp Thing, a DC character. The following characters are also confirmed to be in Injustice 2:

- Blue Beetle
- The Flash
- Harley Quinn
- Superman
- Supergirl
- Wonder Woman
- Deadshot
- Gorilla Grodd
- Aquaman
- Robin
- Cheetah
- Poison Ivy
- Catwoman
- Black Canary
- Atrocitus
Boon also said the game will feature “obscure characters.” According to Boon, Injustice 2 will be digging deep into some of the lesser-known characters in the DC universe. He added that there is a good chance that there will be third-party characters available as DLC.

Injustice 2 will become available for the PS4 and the Xbox One on May 16.
