GameSpot recently reported that bunch of information on the next entry in the popular Assassin’s Creed series has supposedly been leaked. Apparently, the new game will be entitled Assassin’s Creed: Origins and WWG reports that Ubisoft will reveal more about the game at this year’s E3.
Furthermore, Eurogamer’s sources have stated that the new game will be out later this year, it will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and that the game will take place in Egypt and will be a prequel to previous games (thus the “Origins” in the title). It is rumored that naval combat, such as that found in 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, will be included in this new entry.
A recent Reddit post included an alleged leaked screenshot from the game, featuring a character riding on a boat. Eurogamer’s sources have confirmed that the image is indeed from the new game.
GameSpot reports that Ubisoft issued the following statement last year concerning the new Assassin’s Creed game:
Since the release of Assassin’s Creed Unity, we’ve learned a lot based on your feedback. We’ve also updated our development processes and recommitted to making Assassin’s Creed a premier open-world franchise. We’re taking this year to evolve the game mechanics and to make sure we’re delivering on the promise of Assassin’s Creed offering unique and memorable gameplay experiences that make history everyone’s playground.
Meanwhile, a representative from Ubisoft told Eurogamer, “We won’t be making a comment on any rumours or speculations,” regarding the possible leaks of the new game.
