It looks like one of Activision’s umbrella studios has been busy this past year. Infinity Ward, the studio most synonymous with the Call of Duty franchise, has opened a brand new studio with the same name in Austin, Texas. This new location was not specifically announced by the developer, but when searching for a “Expert UI Engineer” on the Activision job search engine, the new area is explicitly mentioned at the top of the listing.
Infinity Ward opened a new studio in Texas to create “new and innovative experiences for Call of Duty.”

Also stated on the advertisement is the purpose of the new studio, which is you guessed it, working on the Call of Duty franchise. “The studio will work on creating new and innovative experiences for Call of Duty and create state-of-the-art technology to power them,” the listing says. As of this writing, this is the only current job listing for the new Austin, Texas location. However, as time progresses with whatever project/IP they create, newer job listings will more than likely pop up with this location in mind.
This is more than likely why neither Infinity Ward nor Activision have made an official announcement on the new area, and are potentially going to coincide this with whatever their involvement with the franchise ends up being. This isn’t the only new studio that has been established with the Infinity Ward name this year. They also opened a studio, once again with the same name, in Barcelona, Spain to work along with Digital Legends for the launch of Call of Duty: Warzone mobile, as well as more support for Modern Warfare. Hopefully, we’ll hear more on what the Austin, Texas branch will be working on very soon.
