Nominated titles range in genre and style, with games like Ye or Nay by A.M. Darke, Tajae Keith, and Nick Yonge to Starstruck: Hands of Time, by Createdelic. Nominees come from all over, spanning five continents, with places like New Zealand, Argentina, Australia, Iceland, and more. Kitfox Games, a development studio based in Canada, are among the nominees for their game Lucifer Within Us. There are VR games, like Aria, the Best Trip Team, and card games like Mantis Falls (a game of trust), from Distant Rabbit games. The pool of indie games is comprised of 50 titles, with additional nominees to be announced leading up to the event.

IndieCade is organized and operated by volunteers with support from sponsors. An IndieCade: Anywhere and Everywhere Kickstarter is live to fund a “sustainable digital space to support and showcase indie games.” Donations will go toward producing online architecture for their online headquarters and development of initial digital infrastructure. The Kickstarter page shares a graph showing fund splits, with 33.3% of donations going toward backer rewards! An ABS vs. THE BLOOD QUEEN Fightstick by  BumbleBear and Klaxo Radio Hour by Haunted Ephemera are among the rewards still available. Other expenses are listed as digital tools and platform, streaming support, cloud storage, assets for streaming, hardware, and additional staff.

IndieCade tickets will become available on Monday, September 28th with three tiers: public being free, plus at $45, and premium at $155. The virtual festival goes live beginning October 16th on platforms like Twitch, Zoom, Discord, and others. For more on IndieCade, visit the event’s official website.
