Despite the turbulent state of the Indiana Jones franchise since its arrival into the 21st century, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has received almost universal praise. Developed by MachineGames and published by Bethesda, the game was released toward the very end of 2024. Reviews of the game were overwhelmingly positive, with strangers to the property and longtime fans coming together to celebrate the improvisational gameplay and sense of exploration the game provides. Given how well the game was received, it was inevitable that DLC was coming to add even more to the experience.

The DLC, titled The Order of Giants, has a story that takes place during the events of the main game, taking Indiana Jones to Rome on yet another adventure. This time, underground tunnels beneath the street open up for exploration, providing plenty of opportunities to be caught off-guard by traps and other hazards that come standard with any Indiana Jones adventure.

According to the MachineGames website, the DLC will offer players the chance to learn and engage more with the story of the Nephilim Giants from the base game. While characters from the main story are set to appear, the character of greatest interest promises to be Father Ricci, who enlists Indy’s help in finding an artifact. New enemies will collide with old foes as well, with the Cult of Mithras standing in the way of the player’s goals as well as a colossal beast and gladiator games that all promise to challenge Indy in ways he hasn’t been before.

If Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has proven something more than anything else, it is that there is still a great interest for the adventures of Indiana Jones. All he needs is the right story and great gameplay. The Order of Giants promises to deliver more of both to fans. The DLC is available now on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
