One of the most anticipated titles coming from Xbox’s Bethesda acquisition is Machine Games Indiana Jones title and today at developer direct there was tons of information given alongside a full trailer. The single player adventure is looking to be one of the best games of the year as we learn more and more of the much anticipated title. The games official title will be Indiana Jones And The Great Circle, it will be a single player first person Indy globe trotting experience as dark forces seek the powers of the great circle. The initial reaction to the first person gameplay was surprising but it makes sense considering the fact that you would want to be as far away form Uncharted comparisons. The first person gameplay looks exciting as combat looks brutal and stealth looks heart pumping. The whole game won’t be played in first person though, as cutscenes will obviously be free flow camera cinematics but third person point of view will play a role in puzzles and traversal.
We got a lot of details regarding the actual story of this game, as Machine Games is striving for a truly cinematic experience to really showcase Indiana Jones how we normally see him in the big screen. Troy Baker is confirmed to be voicing the iconic hero as the likeness of Harrison Ford is also being used. The Great Circle will be taking place between Raiders of The Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, although this does seem to be one of the most traveled Indy stories we’ve ever seen. Its mentioned that we will be visit the frozen heights of Nepal, The Pyramids of Egypt, The Vatican, and many more locations. Indy is forced to intervene once he realizes that a seemingly insignificant artifact that has been stolen from the college he teaches at has grander implications to the Circuli Magni, The Great Circle.
More exciting news was that this title is slated to release sometime late 2024, this is surprising as this is the first weve really seen of the game and its very rare nowadays to get a trailer reveal and release the same year. Get ready to travel the globe with old characters and some new ones as Xbox begins to really kick into gear this coming 2024 with Indiana Jones and The Great Circle.
