After a successful Kickstarter campaign, Moonlight Games is now fully funded to continue developing their newest project, Hunt the Night. The campaign, which came to a close this past Sunday, actually surpassed its initial goal.
It all started with an idea. We were alone. We met you. We were together.
We have succeeded.
Now the real journey begins. Let’s Hunt the Night together, Stalkers. pic.twitter.com/Nf2PfxXYTd— Hunt the Night Kickstarter LIVE NOW! (@_HuntTheNight) May 5, 2019
Hunt the Night is a dark fantasy, fast-paced combat game where players will level up by exploring dungeons, and upgrading their weapons & armor to fit their play style. Players will control “The Stalker” Vesper, as well as her dark counterpart known as Umbra, as she prepares for an epic battle to save humanity from the edge of extinction.
The surplus of funds has allowed for some additional features to be included. With these funds, the studio was able to hire an additional level designer/pixel artist to assist in enlarging the world. Nightmare Mode would also be included. This mode will be for the bravest of players, as the game mode does not allow for second chances. Once you die, you must start all over. Players will also be able to start a new game with even tougher combat, stronger enemies, extra weapons and armors, as well as an optional secret boss battle. More Stretch Goals can be viewed on the game’s Kickstarter page.
Hunt the Night is still in development, and a release date has yet to be announced. However, according to the game’s Kickstarter page, Moonlight Games is expecting the game to be ready for launch next fall, October 2020. This date could possibly change before then, but it is nice to see an estimated release period. Hunt the Night will be accessible for PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch players. More information on the storyline and gameplay is available on the game’s official website. For updates, you can follow the game’s progress on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
