Injustice 2 has only been out for a couple days so far, and already players are reporting a bug that seems to undo much of their in-game progress. While developer NetherRealm Studios has not come out with an official fix for the bug just yet, Kotaku reports that the folks at WB Games Support seem to have found a fairly simple temporary fix.
The Injustice 2 bug in question affects the game by causing a player’s heroes to lose levels; a player might work a specific hero up to level 20 before calling it a night and turning their game off, only to then return the next day and find out upon booting the game that that same hero has dropped down to level 10. Interestingly, the hero will usually still be wearing the same high-leveled gear as before, but, since they’ve been dropped to a lower level, they will be unable to put this gear back on if it is removed for any reason.
A large number of players have reported this glitch, both on the WB Games Forums and on the official Injustice 2 subreddit. While some players have found that the bugged hero will revert to normal entirely on its own, not every player has been so fortunate. For those who are stuck, resetting the console seems to often do the trick, both on PS4 and Xbox One, but not always. Some have reported that removing the power cable has an effect on reverting the bugged state. Others have found that after system reset, they had to go do specific actions such as playing a Multiverse in the game before their hero returned to the correct level. In any case, turning your console off, waiting a while, and then turning it back on seems to be a good place to start for those encountering the bug in their game.
There has not yet been any word from any official WB or NetherRealm media presence regarding a permanent fix for the problem.
