Herman Hulst, who runs PlayStation Worldwide Studio, confirmed in an interview with Sony’s PlayStation Blog that a PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn ( a community-wide loved game) will come later this summer. Hulst did not specify a specific date, but he said that Guerilla Games (Horizon Zero Dawn‘s developer) will release more information soon. The game is already listed on the Steam website with PlayStation mobile as its publisher. As Hulst said in an interview, “I think it’s important that we stay open to new ideas of how to introduce more people to PlayStation, and show people maybe what they’ve been missing out on. In my mind, Horizon Zero Dawn was just a great fit in this particular instance.” As of now, Horizon Zero Dawn: The Complete Edition will include:
- Horizon Zero Dawn
- The Frozen Wilds expansion
- Carja Storm Ranger Outfit and Carja Mighty Bow
- Carja Trader Pack
- Banuk Trailblazer Outfit and Banuk Culling Bow
- Banuk Traveller Pack
- Nora Keeper Pack
What is included in the Complete Edition is the same as what is in the PS4 version, with the exception of a digital artbook and a dynamic theme. There is no word so far on any PC exclusive features the game might have, but the store page is also using screenshots from the PS4 version. As of now, there are no system updates needed for Horizon Zero Dawn.
Horizon Zero Dawn will be the first Sony-developed PS4 exclusive game to be launched on another platform, along with being the biggest games ever to cross the boundaries from PlayStation to PC. From a company standpoint, Sony has already had major success in the video game industry with titles such as Marvel’s Spider-Man and God of War and looks to make an even bigger impact with putting another big game title into another niche of players. Death Stranding, another PlayStation exclusive, is also planning to make the leap from PlayStation only to PC format.
Horizon Zero Dawn was released in February 2017 and follows an orphan named Aloy who tries to uncover her past in the distant future.
