During their 2.4 special program, Honkai: Star Rail teased an exciting collaboration coming to the game next year: Fate/Stay Night [Unlimited Blade Works] x Honkai: Star Rail. The collaboration was met with near unanimous excitement, especially considering the rough period of public opinion that company was experiencing at the time due to the recent Natlan teasers. The collaboration is currently set to release in Quarter 3 of 2025, putting it between July and September of next year. Just because collab is still a year away, hasn’t prevented players from hypothesizing on who might be joining the roster of Star Rail. Some popular names have been mentioned: Saber, Shirou, Rin, Gilgamesh, Cu Chulainn. However, after the newest trailer released during Gamescom, the player base might have their first confirmed character showing up.
The new trailer mainly centers around Feixiao, the upcoming DPS character that will be coming with the next patch: version 2.5, in about three weeks. The special program for that version should be happening next Friday, but better to start the excitement now and carry it through till her banner drops.
During the main section of the trailer some strong “hints” are placed clueing us into the possible crossover character. First a tan man with one white and black sword is described by a local storyteller. Next the same storyteller utters a rather common Fate phrase: Are you my Master?
At the end of the trailer, the scene suddenly shifts from the Xianzhou Luofu, the planet-size spaceship the trailer starts in, to the Astral Express, with a 2D artstyle instead of the 3D models used earlier. A red light blitz past the windows, and a golden light accompanies a small explosion behind the train car door. Pom-Pom, the adorable conductor, investigates the noise, believing that March 7th, Dan Heng, and the Trailblazer are behind it, only to stop in surprise. The three usual suspects also look in on the new arrival, and the screen fades before showing the Honkai: Star Rail x Fate: Stay Night [Unlimited Blade Works] as a voice says “Looks like I just met another impressive Master.”
It is undoubtedly Archer, the mysterious servant of Rin Tohsaka in Fate/Stay Night, who has a mysterious connection to the protagonist, Shirou Emiya. Besides all the hints in the trailer, and getting Archer’s voice actor for the final line, the voice actor is also credited as Archer in the description of the video. Fate fans have a very exciting new character to look forward to in 2025, with Archer coming to Honkai: Star Rail.
