Honkai: Star Rail is HoYoverse’s popular turn-based combat game set in the Honkai universe. In it, players explore the world as Trailblazer, who travels the universe on the space-faring Astral Express, a train conducted by the cute and small Pom Pom. The Trailblazer joins Himeko, Welt, Dan Heng, and March 7th on their trailblazing journey through the stars. So far, the Astral Express’ journey has taken them to the Herta Space Station, Jarilo-VI, the Xianzhou Luofu, Penacony, and their current location, Amphoreus. This morning, Honkai: Star Rail had their Version 3.6 special program livestream.

Version 3.6, “Back to Earth in Evernight” continues Trailblazer’s journey in Amphoreus. Excitedly, it comes with the release of two new characters who were previously drip marketed on the Honkai: Star Rail official twitter: Evernight and Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae. Drawn into Amphoreus before Trailblazer and Dan Heng arrived, March 7th transformed into Evernight in order to protect March 7th’s life. Evernight is a character aligned with the Path of Remembrance and Ice. Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae is the manifestation of Dan Heng’s desire to protect, and finds him now a Physical type on the Path of Preservation.

Excitedly, Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae will be free for players to claim starting on October 15, 2025, 12:00 Server Time until the end of Version 4.0. In order to claim the free Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae, they must have completed the Trailblaze Mission “The Blue” — “A Moment of Peace,” which will unlock the mail function in game. Be sure to complete the missions on time if you wish to redeem him!

Event warps for Version 3.6 will include Evernight, Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae, and re-runs for two Path of Erudition characters. The first half of version 3.6 will feature Evernight and The Herta, along with their limited light cones. The second half of version 3.6 will feature Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae and Anaxa, as well as their limited light cones. This will be Anaxa’s first re-run since he was first released in version 3.2.

Version 3.6 will also include several events. In Nice Weather for Dromases, players will be able to care for a baby dromas, which are the small dragon/dinosaur creatures that walk among the people of Amphoreus. Additionally, the online game modes available within Honkai: Star Rail, Seal Slammers and Origami Bird, will be getting updates with new online modes, called Double Seals and Best of the Flock respectively. Try-Not-to-Laugh Challenge is the version’s combat event, set in Penacony.

A new end game mode will also be coming with version 3.6 called Anomaly Arbitration. Players will need to complete three trial stages in order to take on the final stage. Successfully clearing the final stage will reward players with the new item, the Interference Key. This item will allow players to block one subsidiary stat from being upgraded when using a variable dice to reroll stats on a relic. This is good news for players who are trying to get lucky when rerolling on their relics. When version 3.6 drops, players will be able to claim an Interference Key, 600 Lone Stardusts (a new shop’s currency), and 200 Jade Feathers in their mailbox.

Finally, alongside other events, Honkai: Star Rail will provide players the ability to replay past stories starting in version 3.6. Journey highlights will also be available to players, which will allow players to quickly see what events are on-going, what are up-coming, and a quick glimpse at what rewards can be redeemed through completing the events.

Version special programs typically occur roughly two weeks before the patch release, so version 3.6 is expected to drop on September 23, 2025. This will put the start of the second half of the patch on October 15, which is when Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae will be free to claim from mailboxes.
