Hohokum, a 2D adventure game that is a collaboration between graphic artist and designer Richard Hogg and Honeyslug, an indie game studio based in London. They have released a video today on the PlayStation blog that gives the audience a look into the game’s art style, which also reveals that the game will be coming out on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita this Summer.
Hohokum allows players to explore this creative and colorful game by having control of a colorful kite-like character that is known as the long mover. The creators mention that they wanted this game to have the ‘vision to create an experience free of some of the typical pressures of videogames Honeyslug delivers inspiring and unique gameplay in Hohokum.’
As continue on in the game, you will uncover secrets that include you carrying others on your back to take them to new places or the ability to illuminate things just by flying over them. Hohokum, allows you to wander around as if you were in a playground, but also along the way you can go towards objects that you needs you to achieve the goals, find secrets and get trophies, but at your own pace. Richard Hogg explains Hohokum artwork saying that he “was re-drawing some wonky hotdog-trees. They were still pretty wonky but now it’s the right kind of wonky,” which describes that the game feels pleasant in a weird kind of way, like the game Katamari Damacy.
