The highly anticipated Harry Potter prequel game has been pushed back yet again. In an announcement on Twitter, Hogwarts Legacy’s official account tweeted another unfortunate delay, pushing the games initial holiday 2022 release date to February 10, 2023.
Hogwarts Legacy‘s latest delay affects all of the platforms it will release on including the Nintendo Switch, whose release date will be revealed soon according to the post. The developers elaborated on their decision, stating that while the team is excited for fans to lay the game, they need more time to “deliver players the best possible game experience”.
As unfortunate as it is that fans won’t get the holiday release that was announced before, it’s reassuring to see that the developers want the game to be the best version of its self. While we haven’t seen any extended game play, what the developers have shown fans proves to be promising. The game’s character customization is extensive, fulfilling Harry Potter fans desires of living out school life in Hogwarts.
The Playstation version of the game strengthens that sense of customization even further with the DualSense controller, with players being more attuned to their character’s spellcasting due to haptic feedback between the DualSense controller and the character’s wand. Now that Hogwarts Legacy is coming to Nintendo Switch it’s not hard to speculate what kind of exclusive features that version of the game will give to players. Only time will tell but till then, Harry Potter fans will have to wait just a bit longer to get their for more updates.
