In an unexpected collaboration, gaming hardware company Higround teamed up with the Pokémon franchise to produce a line of gaming keyboards and PC accessories.
On its official Twitter/X account, Higround posted a trailer showing three keyboards falling into place forming the images of the classic Gen 1 starters, Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise, positioned on the keys. Of course, the trailer only showed a small piece of the full collection, which also consists of varying mousepad designs, and a Gengar jellybag for all your carrying needs.
Forming in 2020, Higround might be fairly new to the gaming hardware scene, but has quickly proven itself to be worthy of respect. They pride themselves on creating the first “graphic keyboard,” and have collaborated with other popular series, like Attack on Titan, Jujitsu Kaisen, Street Fighter, Sonic the Hedgehog and Yu-Gi-Oh! to create a limited release of gaming keyboards and PC accessories. They also create their original lines of hardware, which are always available for purchase.
Meanwhile, Pokémon is not shying away from other unlikely partnerships. Recently, fashion company Tiffany & Co. announced their collaboration with the franchise and designer Daniel Arsham to create nine pieces of jewelry starring different Pokémon, which includes a $29,000 18-karat Pikachu pendant styled with diamonds.
As most of Higround’s other collabs are completely sold out, Pokémon fans might want to sign up for early access to the collection through the Higround website before it officially launches on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 12pm PT.
