We may have a better understanding of what famed video game designer Hideo Kojima is working on next. Last month, actor Norman Reedus may have inadvertently revealed that a sequel to Death Stranding, which Reedus starred in, is happening and has started production. Today, a new report has revealed that Kojima is also working on a new horror game. The game is supposedly called Overdose and will star actress Margaret Qualley, who has worked with Kojima before, playing the character Mama in Death Stranding.
Kojima’s Horror Game is currently dubbed “Overdose”

Industry insider Tom Henderson says that he has received early footage from the game. The footage seems to show Qualley’s character wearing a blue dress. She walks through dark corridors with a flashlight in third person which leads to a jump scare and then “Game Over” appears on the screen, followed by “A Hideo Kojima Game…” “Overdose.” According to Henderson, the game will also be playable in first person.
Thanks to The Snitch for helping with the story. He tweeted Overdose yesterday and seemingly got all of te State of Play announcements right 🤭 https://t.co/O7abFAgQBF

Hideo Kojima said that he was thinking about returning to horror games. He wanted to make the “scariest” horror game. In 2020, Kojima Productions confirmed that they were working on a new project. It could be Death Stranding 2 or it could be Overdose. There had been talks between Hideo Kojima and Microsoft for publishing a new game on Xbox. Last year, it was reported that the two parties have signed a letter of intent for the publishing agreement.
It may not be too long before we hear what Kojima is working on. The Summer Game Fest showcase will take place later this week on Thursday, June 9. Hideo Kojima and industry veteran Geoff Keighley are very close friends. Death Stranding had made notable appearances on several Geoff Keighley produced events such as Opening Night Live and Summer Game Fest last year. The Xbox & Bethesda event is set to take place over the weekend on Sunday, June 12. Overdose or whatever Kojima and Kojima Productions are working on next could make an appearance at either event.
Kojima Productions has since reached out after the publication of this article via email to ask for its removal.
I have denied the request.

Nothing official has been announced as of yet but since the news broke, Henderson has said that Kojima Productions has asked for the story to be removed.
