Today was the first-ever Xbox and Bethesda Developer_Direct, a new initiative for Xbox this year that focuses on a small selection of games coming out in the next few months. Game creators focus on the big features, extended gameplay showcases, and the latest info coming to their games. Today’s direct focused on Forza Motorsport, Minecraft Legends, The Elder Scrolls Online, and Redfall. In addition, Hi-Fi Rush, the new game that leaked beforehand coming from developer Tango Gameworks. Release dates were revealed for each game.
Minecraft Legends is an upcoming action-strategy game that is set to be released on April 18, 2023. The game will feature a story-driven game where players can explore a world filled with treasures and perils, reunite with familiar mobs, meet new mysterious characters, and strategize with allies against the piglins. Mojang Studios in partnership with Blackbird Interactive will also introduce a PvP mode in Minecraft Legends (a first for the series). In the PvP mode, two teams of up to four players work together to collect resources, build a base, and lay siege to the opposition’s forces.
The developers at Turn 10 Studios detailed on how they are making the next generation of Forza titles built to take full advantage of the Xbox Series X|S. Turn 10 went into how they are making Forza Motorsport look, sound, and feel more real than ever before through its cars, tracks, and audio. Forza Motorsport is set to release sometime in 2023.
Hi-Fi Rush is an over-the-top single-player rhythm action game where the world moves to the beat. Players will take on the role of Chai, a free-spirited slacker with rockstar ambitions whose music player is fused to his chest. Chai must defend himself through rhythmic combat featuring licensed tracks from iconic rock bands including Nine Inch Nails and The Black Keys, with the help of a motley crew of allies. Hi-Fi- Rush is available now through Game Pass on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
The next ESO update, Necrom is set to launch this June. Players will return to the alien lands of Morrowind to adventure in its unexplored eastern regions. Coming to this update is a new playable class, the Arcanist. This will be the third new class introduced to the game since it launched. The developers at ZeniMax Online Studios also announced that for a limited time starting today, a free trial of ESO Plus is available. It makes all past Chapters (big updates) and past DLC available to any players with the ESO base game, including those playing through Game Pass.
Arkane Austin showcased new gameplay of Redfall focusing on the different activities players can take on. The gameplay also revealed new looks at some of the vampires players will have to contend with including a sneak peek at the vampire gods. Redfall is set to release on May 2, 2023. You can pre-order the game or play via Game Pass. Those who pre-order will receive the Vampire Hunter Pack which includes the exclusive Grim Tide Shotgun, which grants 20% increased damage with this weapon for eight seconds after killing an enemy. The pack also includes a Polar Vortex multi-weapon skin and a Blood Ravager Stake weapon attachment. The Bite Back Edition includes the Hero Pass with two future heroes, the Throwback Outfit Pack with a unique outfit and backpack for each of the four base heroes inspired by their lives before Redfall, a Laser Beam multi-weapon skin, and the Tactical Knife Stake weapon attachment. Game Pass players can also upgrade to the Bite Back Edition for access to all of the bonus content.
