Heroes & Generals Command Early Access in Steam

Among the first 10 games to be approved by the community of Steam in its Greenlight program in 2012, Copenhagen, Denmark-based development studio Reto-Moto’s Heroes & Generals finally climbed the ranks for an Early Access release yesterday in Valve’s gaming medium.

1.5 million accounts are already registered for the game’s beta version, released last year, and these devotees can still use their accounts for the identical Steam-client version. The original beta version, accessed through web-browser, will still be available.

Heroes & Generals is a MMO first-person shooter set in Europe, during World War II. Infantry and drivers are the vicarious vessels available for control in battle through the heroes first-person shooter mode. When a player ranks up, they can unlock General mode. In this mode, troops are set up and commanded via strategy-style gameplay, while the troops themselves take part in heroes mode.

According to a press release from Reto-Moto, trench-fighting, sniping, paratrooping, and commandeering planes, tanks, and other vehicles are the amenities to those who enter Heroes & General’s world. This is an experience, “Where every action can turn the tides of a persistent war for European domination fought between axis and allied forces,” according to the release.

The Steam Early Access, and currently PC-only, version of the game can be found here, and the official website, including access to the desktop version, here. The game is accessible in English, French, German, Spanish, Czech, Polish, and Russian to accommodate players on an international spectrum.
