Blizzard announced their next expansion for Hearthstone, Knights of the Frozen Throne about a month ago. And recently the developer has announced that the expansion will be released next week on August 10. The update is set to bring to the game 135 new cards. This includes legendary hero cards that when played they transform the player’s hero into a Death Knight while giving them an immediate effect and a modified hero power. They also added some new single player missions which include a prologue, two wings of three boss fights each along with a fight against the Lich King. Players will be rewarded a free legendary card for completing the prologue and card pack for each completed wings. And a new mechanic called lifesteal which heals the player who uses the card that incorporates the key word for any damage dealt. The release date announcement came from a Twitter post from Hearthstone’s officials account.
Blizzard also revealed more new cards for the game on their official site, here are some below:
Sunborne Val’kyr grants the player’s minions 2 health.
Skulking Geist gives the ability to destroy all 1 cost spells in both decks and hands.
Colbalt Scalebane allows the player to give one of his or her minions an attack boost of 3 at the end of their turn.
Bonemare gives a player’s minion +4/+4 and the Taunt ability.
Abominable Bowman’s ability Deathrattle allows the player to summon a friendly beast that died previously in the game.
Valeera the Hollow grants the player Stealth until their next turn.
