Hearthstone’s next expansion, Knights of the Frozen Throne has recently been announced. This update will bring 135 new cards into the game along with some new single player missions. Blizzard is also introducing new mechanics along with the cards in the expansion. One of the new mechanics is that cards can now incorporate the keyword; lifesteal which heals the player who uses them for any damage dealt whether it be on a weapon, spell, or minion. The Chillblade Champion for example comes equipped lifesteal. The card can attack the same turn it is played. It can essentially be used to restore three health to the player in one turn.
Spirit Lash is a useful card that deals one damage to all minions on the board.
This expansion also introduces hero cards, which actually changes the player’s hero when played altering their hero ability. The only hero card to be revealed at this time is Deathstalker Rexxar, the hunter card. The card will cost six mana but will give the player five armor and deal out two damage to all enemy minions. Deathstalker Rexxar will also change the player’s hero ability to Build-a-Beast.
Shallow Gravedigger is a more straightforward minion with a moderate attack power
If you play Prince Keleseth in a deck that has no other two cost minions, you will increase all your minions by one attack and one health.
This ability will allow that hero to “craft a custom Zombeast” card. The player will then choose two cards from separate sets of three to combine the choices to add up mana costs, and attack power. These hero cards are legendary so it will take more time to collect them. Knights of the Frozen Throne will also come with a set of single player missions free of charge to players. These missions will include a prologue, two wings containing three boss fights each, and a battle against the Lich King. More cards will be revealed on July 24 and starting today players can participate in a special pre-order deal to receive the expansion. Knights of the Frozen Throne will release in this August.
