Once the expansion has been downloaded and updated, players will be prompted to choose a side when they log back in. You’ll have to pick either the Alliance or the Horde to proceed, just like when you create a character for the first time in World of Warcraft. Once you’ve made your decision, you’ll get a free card based on the faction you chose. Another major aspect about the Fractured in Alterac Valley Expansion is that this expansion sees the return of the Hero Cards, which transform minions into completely new and more powerful cards.
Another new feature is the Honorable Kill skill. Cards that have this will get a bonus effect when they deal exact lethal damage to an enemy character on your turn. Also new to the expansion are brand new spell cards with Objectives. These new cards have special effects that can last for up to three turns, making them that much more important. With 135 new cards, it’s hard to narrow down which ones stand out, but we’ve highlighted 20 of them which are listed below for you to view. When building a new deck for the expansion, these will more than likely play a major factor in the updated meta. Hearthstone Fractured in Alterac Valley is live right now and is available on PC through Battle.net, as well as iOS and Android.
