Blizzard Entertainment has just announced a time-based expansion coming to Hearthstone, Across the Timeways. In their blog post, they revealed that characters from all across Warcraft‘s history will be coming together. The expansion also promises the addition of 145 new cards and two new keywords, Fabled and Rewind.

The story of the expansion follows Chromie the chronomancer as she tries to save every timeline from Murozond, Lord of the Infinite. As seen in the trailer, her adventure brings her into contact with heroes across different timelines and realities. All of them have gathered together for Bronze Dragonflight to face the corrupted dragon from the future in a climactic battle.

The new keywords introduced with the coming cards add a new play style to compete with. Rewind simulates the ability to time travel by allowing players to redo effects with random components to hope for a better result. From the cards revealed, one of the applications of this keyword will be to search for different minions when using cards that let players draw or summon random minions, such as with Mister Clocksworth. Players will be able to play with some of these cards immediately, as the initial revealed cards with Rewind will come automatically with the expansion.

In keeping with the time theme of the expansion, players will also be able to call on heroes from all across the timeline of Warcraft. These cards use the keyword “Fabled” to demonstrate their legendary status. The most recognizable of the Fabled cards so far is Ranger General Sylvanas, drawn in from a time before her death. She comes with the help of her sisters, with each having the ability to increase the others’ strengths. The other Fabled card revealed is Gelbin of Tomorrow, boasting a shining appearance and mech armor.

In addition to the new keywords, Hearthstone also revealed new cards that either seek to protect or destroy time. One of these, Timelord Nozdormu, is the Guardian of Time that started the events of the expansion’s story. He is joined by minions from either side of the war that have mirroring powers to either protect or attack.

The new expansion is set to come November 4th, with new cards set to be revealed on the website starting October 1st.
