The international sensation and vocaloid Hatsune Miku is back with the announcement of a brand new game. This game is called Hatsune Miku: Starry Party, and is unlike any other game in the Hatsune Miku franchise. It will not be a rhythm game, like Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA (2009) or Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage!(2020), but rather a “party action” co-op game for up to six people.
For any players who are new to the Miku franchise, Hatsune Miku is a “music software developed by Crypton Future Media, INC.,” that allows anyone with internet access to “make their computer sing by entering lyrics and melodies.” Because this software is relatively accessible, massive amounts of people from around the globe are able to easily upload their creations online. This resulted in the vocaloid’s quick evolution “into a cultural phenomenon.” Today, Hatsune Miku is widely recognized as a virtual singer, performing live concerts for sold out venues throughout the world, as well as a video game character. The other player characters in Hatsune Miku: Starry Party, “Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, MEIKO and KAITO are also virtual singers developed by Crypton Future Media, INC,” and appear in other Hatsune Miku games.
Hatsune Miku: Starry Party is being developed by Crypton Future Media and Good Smile Company. As of July 4, 2026, the teaser trailer is uploaded to the official Good Smile Company YouTube channel, featuring a brief audio clip from the track “StargazeR,” a song that centers around the theme of “following your dreams.” This trailer is available for viewing below.
Currently, official sources have yet to go into depth regarding any sort of gameplay specifications. One X (formerly Twitter) user disclosed a brief two minute gameplay video under the handle “HatsuneMiku_64.” According to this gameplay video, which is available below, players can “explore the world of Miku across a variety of stages.” Of the four highlighted in the nineteen second clip, one stage appears to center around piano and another focuses on drums, while the two appear to be some sort of checkerboard type game. It is important to note, however, that this is not an official source, and gameplay has the possibility to appear very different from this clip. Hatsune Miku: Starry Party will not release until 2027, allowing plenty of time for gameplay announcements from official sources such as Nintendo and Good Smile Company.
