Developer Jam City has announced a release date for its Harry Potter mobile game. Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery will release later this month on April 25, and Jam City has also revealed the names of several original actors from the films who will be reprising their roles for the game.
A full list of actors providing voice work for the game include:
- Dame Maggie Smith (Professor McGonagall)
- Michael Gambon (Professor Dumbledore)
- Warwick Davis (Professor Flitwick)
- Sally Mortemore (Madam Irma Pince)
- Gemma Jones (Madam Pomfrey)
- Zoe Wanamaker (Madam Hooch)
The game, being set in between Voldemort’s first vanquishing and Harry’s time in attendance, will thus be able to feature these familiar faces and many others. “Our goal with Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is to make players really feel for the first time like they’re attending Hogwarts,” said Chris DeWolfe, co-founder and CEO of Jam City. “By including these iconic and incredibly talented actors in the game, we come one step closer to truly giving fans their own Hogwarts experience.”
Apparently Dame Maggie Smith is a bit of a Harry Potter fan herself after years of playing the Transfiguration professor, saying, “If I could attend Hogwarts as a student, I would be most excited to attend the potions class taught by Severus because it is the most exotic!”
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery was created to allow players their own unique Hogwarts experience, featuring House sorting, exploration throughout the castle, and the mastering of magic as players attend classes. The Harry Potter mobile game will be available for IOS and Android devices.
