Halo’s the Arbiter Coming to Killer Instinct

It looks like a character from Halo is coming to Killer Instinct.  No, not Master Chief, it’s the Arbiter.  You might remember him as the disgraced Covenant soldier that you got to play as in Halo 2.  The Arbiter brings along an array of Covenant weapons to Killer Instinct, including the Energy Sword, Covenant Rifle, and Plasma grenades.  While there is no official release date yet, we can expect the Arbiter to be playable soon as part of Killer Instinct’s Season 3.

In the trailer we can see just how big the Arbiter is quite a big character with an impressive reach thanks to the energy sword.  The Arbiter seems to have crazy long combos just like everyone else, with a finishing move that has him use his cloaking device.  Also this may just be me, but I love how he kicks and stomps with his giant dinosaur feet.  While most people would want Master Chief to be the Halo guest star, the Arbiter fits well into the Killer Instinct Universe.  He kind of looks like Fulgor with the armor and lazer sword, and there wasn’t really an extraterrestrial-type character in Killer Instinct until now.

So now we have two Microsoft characters guest starring in Killer Instinct, the last one being Rash from Battletoads.  It’s funny that Halo and Battletoads are on completely different levels of popularity, but they each got a guest character for the game.  What other great Microsoft characters could we see in Killer Instinct?  Marcus from Gears of War, Clippy from Microsoft Office, the Car from Forza Motorsport?  So many options.
