Last year, prior to the Halo World Championship 2024, Halo Studios, formerly 343 Industries officially reintroduced themselves and shared its vision for the future of Halo with a video titled “A New Dawn.” The video showcased the franchise in Unreal Engine 5, which will be used for all future Halo projects going forward. Now, a year later, Halo Studios seems to be ready to share more about the franchise with a “Deep Dive” panel announced for HaloWC 2025.

Over on Halo Waypoint, Halo Studios said “back in June, we let the community know that we’d be continuing the conversation from last year’s HaloWC and the “A New Dawn” video and sharing more about what we’ve been working on. Like last year we’ll be on the Main Stage to talk about it but this year we’ve also got a “deep dive” panel planned for the Community Stage that you won’t want to miss.”
This new vision comes off of 2021’s Halo Infinite which has seen many major changes since its release. A new executive leadership team took over and there was talk then about switching game engines. There was also an acknowledgement that Halo Infinite wasn’t the launch that 343 Industries or Xbox wanted. Xbox boss Matt Booty said that it felt like a runner tripping at the end right near the finish line. “The classic runner’s mistake of tripping and stumbling as you come across the finish line. We’ve got to recover there. The burden is on us,” he said.
Ever since Xbox announced that it was going multiplatform, there have been reports that Halo will some day make its way over to PlayStation 5 and even Nintendo Switch 2. 2026 also marks the 25th Anniversary of both Xbox and Halo, and Microsoft Gaming boss Phil Spencer teased the release of a new Halo project coming out next year, presumably, a Halo: Combat Evolved remake with the new visuals from Unreal Engine alongside a new Fable and Gears of War title.
Both the segment on the Main Stage and the panel on the Community Stage are set to take place early Friday afternoon on October 24.
