The newest update to Halo 5: Guardians features a tribute to the two daughters of a community member who were lost in an electrical fire.
The Spartans Never Walk Alone pack – which is part of this month’s free update – contains the “True Light” emblem, which is named for Trinity and Lena, and is the first animated emblem in Halo 5.
A special feature is also included in the new Arena map, Torque. According to studio head Josh Holmes’ post on halowaypoint, when players scan the stars above:
[…] the names Trinity and Lena will be visible in the night sky. These are but small gestures meant to honor Adam’s daughters, ensuring that their memories are always close at hand within the universe he loves.
Adam – also known as the player thecrzedspartan – and his wife Rebecca received an outpouring of support after the loss of their daughters and their family home, both from the Halo community and from 343 Industries as well.
Halo 5‘s latest update, Hammer Storm, launches today – the free update includes fan-favorite modes Assault, Grifball (this writer’s personal favorite), and Fiesta Slayer, along with “classic Halo weapons” like the Halo: Combat Evolved pistol and Gravity Hammer. The update is a free and automatic download.
