Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta Receives Update

This weekend Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta received an update from developer 343 Industries. The new update includes two maps and a new weapon, based on player votes.

A new game type was also introduced in the update entitled Breakout. Spartans are allotted one life per round for five rounds and the first team to reach all five rounds wins. This new game mode can only be played on two maps, Crossfire and Trench. Regret and Eden are the two new maps that have been added to the Slayer playlist. Also the Hydra MLRS weapon was released to play for this update. The fan voted weaponry is totally new “to the Halo universe.”

While players of Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta are enjoying the new content, studio head Josh Holmes who spoke exclusively to IGN stated no future Beta plans are in the works after Halo 5’s current Beta. What users can look forward too is voting on the next new map, which can be chosen from either Pegasus or Orion. Voting begins on January 6th so players are encouraged to actively vote for your personal favorite to be added to the Beta.

I definitely would recommend Halo 5: Guardians when it’s officially released. The few minutes I’ve spent playing the Beta has definitely sold me on the game. While I have never been a huge Halo fan, mainly because I’m not very good at their multiplayer, Halo 5 is a definite must play game for 2015.
