In accordance with the release of Arrowhead’s Helldivers 2 on Xbox Series X|S that’ll be coming on August 26th, 2025, Arrowhead and Xbox decided to drop a great hype trailer for the collaboration between gaming platforms.

It’s a fun trailer showing off the hectic gameplay of Helldivers 2 as well as a lot of the fun items in terms of armors, guns, vehicles, etc. that you can use on your journey to spread democracy, now on Xbox! P.O.D.s “Boom” is a pretty iconic song so you can’t exactly go wrong with that, but the song that everyone is likely talking about coming out of this trailer is the slight stinger of Deference for Darkness from Halo 3 ODST at the end of the trailer:

The implications here are obvious: Helldivers 2 is releasing for Xbox, one of the greatest IPs in Xbox’s library happens to be a scifi shooter in the form of Halo, it’s peanut butter and chocolate; Helldivers 2 is the perfect platform to receive a few items from Halo, similar to how Killzone previously dropped in for a cup of liber-tea a few months ago.

Fans are already hard at work speculating what kind of armor and weapons we’ll get from Halo. There’s certainly a lot of choose from, the iconic Mjolnir armor that Master Chief wears throughout the series would be the obvious and popular choice, though one would have to wonder if that’s a little too high powered for Helldivers. Considering it was an ODST song that played, we’re more likely to get equipment from ODST itself, those being the ODST battle armors worn by the ODST marines themselves. Think of them as mini-Master Chiefs.

We can speculate until the cows come home, but the truth is we’ll know for sure what sort of goodies we get from Halo come August 26th, less than two weeks away! It’s a good time to farm for those Super Credits, veteran divers, and welcome to the fight, Xbox.
