Chasing Carrots has announced a major new wave of content for Halls of Torment, the critically acclaimed horde survival title that has built a loyal community with more than 28,000 “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews on Steam. The game will receive its first-ever DLC, a substantial free update, and console releases on Xbox and PlayStation. Both platforms will include the base game, the free update, and the upcoming DLC as a separate purchase, according to a press release.

The Boglands is the first expansion for Halls of Torment and introduces a new swamp-like stage filled with creeping roots, drowned spirits, and ancient walking trees. Two new heroes will join the roster: the Crone and the Alchemist. The Crone summons twisted plant life to entangle enemies and spread Decay, while the Alchemist wields volatile mixtures that can be customized with elemental power such as fire, ice, lightning, or earth. Players will also encounter more than 50 new quests, new abilities, additional gear, and six new artifacts that reshape the rules of each run. The expansion deepens the game’s mechanics with the Decay effect and the Earth element, bringing even more possibilities for build experimentation.

Alongside the DLC, Chasing Carrots is preparing the Bardcore update, a free content drop that adds The Bard as a new playable character. The update features six new abilities, six new endgame artifacts, three selectable metal music tracks for each stage, and manual level-ups. Together, these additions expand the range of strategies available to players while giving the game a more flexible and customizable feel. Many of these new features are teased in the newest trailer.
Halls of Torment remains one of the standout titles in the growing “survivor-like” genre. Blending elements of Diablo and Vampire Survivors, the game offers 30-minute runs that combine roguelike progression with a pre-rendered art style inspired by late 1990s PC classics. Players descend into labyrinthine dungeons, survive endless waves of enemies, and build out unique characters with traits, items, and abilities.

The Boglands DLC will be available for purchase on both PC and consoles, while the Bardcore update will be free to all players. A release date for the new content will be announced soon.
