On July 30th, the first announcement trailer for Guns of Eschaton was dropped, showcasing a souls-like western FPS game. It is set in the apocalyptic Old South of America designed by the renowned Bulgarian artist, Viktor Antonov. He worked on popular franchises like Half-Life 2, Dishonored, Fallout 4, Prey, and Wolfenstien: The New Order. Antonov’s striking realism has transcended from memorable to a living legacy in this dying world.
As his final project with Eschatology Entertainment, Guns of Eschaton features a haunted wasteland filled with demonic monsters. The main story centers around a man who is trying to return home before what little he has left is taken from him. Players can forge their own gunslinger playstyle, creating builds with both active and passive abilities.
Whether playing solo or with friends, players can experience the story their way or step into PvP and become a threat to others. The game includes custom bullets, talismans, armor, and the powers of three sacramental paths. It is an apocalyptic world where selecting the right bullet for the right monster means everything.
In Guns of Eschaton, historical gunslingers and iconic figures are reimagined, placed into this wasteland to teach players new tricks. There are factions in the game that are based of real mythologies and influenced by their apocalyptic world. Players can also choose from over 20 weapons, each having their own unique characteristics and risks.
The announcement trailer highlights the hand-drawn Cherokee Codex, which players will use to study the enemies they encounter. This Codex is vital to understanding each enemies weakness, behaviors, and hidden facts. In this world, every bullet matters.
FPS shooters are revamped and a fast pace is no longer a means of survival. The game encourages players to adapt their tactics and learn how to shoot all over again. Although no release date is set, Guns of Eschaton is available for wishlist on the Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
