GungHo Entertainment, the publisher whom is famous for the Puzzle & Dragon series as well as Let It Die now has a game currently in development for the Nintendo Switch. They did not give many details on what the title might potentially be but did announce that the game will be an original action title. During E3 2017 GungHo CEO Kazuki Morishita spoke with Destructoid about the upcoming title stating that the game will be an “action game for all ages with a lighter, comical tone.”
The game will feature both single player and multiplayer options, but when asked to compare the game to any other titles that are currently available he declined saying that “No direct comparison exists.” He added that the gameplay style for this new IP is something that has never been seen before. Morishita also explained that they have been working on the project for about 5 years and what certain factors influenced them along the way.
“And then when the Switch was announced, we decided with the kinds abilities the Switch brings to the market for different ways of playing, we felt that it would be a good fit.” So it appears that the game did not start out as a Switch title. Instead Morishita stated that it was kicked around for some time at the company before the current state of the game. The publisher seems to be focused on developing the game to fit a global audience tailored much like it’s successful Puzzle & Dragon series that gained initial popularity in Japan then eventually moved it’s way to the West.
