ArenaNet is setting sail to uncharted territory with Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity, the game’s sixth expansion, arriving October 28, 2025. Centered around the mystical island realm of Castora, the expansion introduces a host of fresh features—from a beachside homestead and enhanced skimmer mounts to brand-new elite specializations for every profession.
Players can explore two fully realized maps at launch, with two more scheduled for no-cost updates in 2026. Castora’s landscape teems with arcane corruption and alien flora, suggesting gameplay that’s both visually stunning and narratively rich. Each of Guild Wars 2’s nine playable professions gains a unique elite specialization, unlocking new traits and utility skills that promise deeper customization and build diversity. A beta testing window for these new specs is available August 20–27 for all current account holders.
Skimmer mounts also get a major upgrade with three new mastery lines tied to Castora’s environment—enhancing movement, exploration, and combat across land and sea.
Homebuilders are in for a treat as well: Visions of Eternity adds a new homestead plot on Castora’s beaches, complete with a Homestead Layout feature that allows players to save and share their custom designs. Whether you prefer a snowbound refuge in Janthir or a sun-drenched seaside retreat, layouts make restoring your favorite aesthetic swift and easy.
The expansion’s launch is just the beginning. Three major updates through 2026 will expand the experience by adding two new maps, new Raid encounters, a Convergence (high-end PvE content), more storyline content, raid gear and legendary item options—including a legendary weapon, acquabreather, ring, accessory, and additional weapon—plus fresh rewards from the Wizard’s Vault.
The storyline sends players to investigate Castora’s legend—an island whispered of by sailors and brimming with ley magic. When the scheming Inquest begin their covert operation on the island, the Commander and their allies must journey into the unknown to uncover and halt the threat before it spreads throughout Tyria.

With new elite specializations, deeper homestead systems, and more accessible cross-mode integration, this expansion truly broadens what players can do in Tyria.”
Pre-purchase is now available at $24.99 for the standard edition, which includes cosmetics like the Tropical Resin Kintsugi weapon set, Sea Captain Hat, Eternal Alchemist title, shared inventory slot, and a level 80 character boost. A Deluxe Edition ($49.99) adds a Castoran Tentacled skimmer skin, Fairy’s Call Gathering Tools, an extra character slot, and an Identity Repair Kit. The Ultimate Edition ($74.99) includes Deluxe bonuses plus 4,000 Gems (Guild Wars 2’s premium currency).
