GTA: San Andreas Is Making Its Way to Oculus Quest 2

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time. As one of players’ favorite Rockstar games, the VR version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is coming to Oculus Quest 2. Shortly after the release of Resident Evil 4 remake, Facebook was quick to announce the next project that would be released exclusively on Oculus Quest 2. “This new version of what I think is one of the greatest games ever made will offer players an entirely new way to experience this iconic open world in virtual reality,” Zuckerberg said during an interview.

Though we can look forward to the VR version of GTA: San Andreas, Facebook did not reveal when the remake will be released. The company’s blog post also revealed no more than a cliffhanger: “Get a new perspective on Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas as you experience (again or for the first time) one of gaming’s most iconic open worlds. This is a project many years in the making, and we can’t wait to show you more of it.”

Rockstar has been on track to revamp their Grand Theft Auto series for modern consoles with visual enhancements and improved player experience, starting with the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — the Definitive Edition. However, because Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is targeting the VR platform from a first-person perspective, the changes will likely be greater than those made in the trilogy game. We can only speculate from the little information Zuckerberg and Facebook has revealed, that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will give players a new gameplay experience instead of a better experience.

On the other hand, Oculus has announced updates for multiple VR games alongside Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. While you are on the hype for when Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will be released, be sure to also stay on the lookout for your other favorite games as well.
