The never ending saga that is GTA Online continues with yet another new piece of content. This time however, Rockstar has decided to give us something different, a continuation from the main storyline. The company has revealed GTA Online: The Contract, which contains actual story mission that is essentially a sequel to the 2013 epic, albeit only in their massive online mode. The Contract will see the return of popular Grand Theft Auto V character Franklin Clinton, who was one of the main protagonists. It will also have world famous rapper Dr. Dre, who’s likeness will be used as a character as well as some unreleased music that he’s made.
As we mentioned earlier, the missions progress the story of the original game, which continues some years since. Franklin’s original voice actor, Shawn Fonteno, will also return to reprise his now famous role. The Contract will also have a new radio station with some new music, including the aforementioned unreleased Dr. Dre tracks. It will also include some new side missions, weapons, and vehicles. Rockstar also released a very brief trailer to coincide with the announcement, complete with Franklin and all of that attitude that we’ve come to love.
The trailer shows Franklin living a large and luxurious life after the ending in Grand Theft Auto V. Apparently, he desires to return to his heisting days, which eventually leads to a supposed meeting with Dr. Dre. Unfortunately Rockstar doesn’t state what else is in store for the story missions, but having one of the three main characters back is more than enough to have us excited. GTA Online: The Contract will officially go live on December 15, which is just next week.
