Steven Ogg, the actor who played Trevor in Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V, has shared new details on a planed story DLC in which his character acted as an undercover agent on a James Bond-style adventure.
Originally reported by The Loadout, Ogg spoke in Streamily Q&A with Ned Luke and Shawn Fonteno, who played Michael and Franklin in the game. Around 25 minutes into the Q&A, the topic of DLC focusing on each of the main characters came up, where Ogg detailed the canceled plans for his character.
“Trevor was gonna be undercover – he works for the feds,” Ogg said. “And we did shoot some of that stuff with ‘James Bond Trevor’ – he’s still kind of a f*ck up, but he’s doing his best to pretend to be like [a secret agent]. We shot some stuff and then it just disappeared and [Rockstar] never did it, they never followed up on it.”
This idea was first seen when GTA 5’s full source code leaked online, which contained several unreleased DLC packs, one of which was labelled “Agent Trevor.” Further analysis of the source code suggested that the story would culminate with Trevor taking a rocket into space.
Along with the Agent Trevor DLC, the leak suggested that there were plans for story-based DLC packs that would act as a prologue to the game and as a return to the series’ Liberty City. In the Streamily Q&A, the actors suggested that each of the three main characters would have a pack that focused on them, though no further details were provided on the role that the other two would play.
In a prior interview with Game Informer, Rockstar director of design Imran Sarwar said that the game never received single-player DLC because they felt that the base game was complete and wanted to focus their resources on Grand Theft Auto Online and future games like Red Dead Redemption II.
