One of the most horrific game trailers in the Critical Reflex Time Showcase 2026, was Grobnopolis Last Days’ Demo Trailer, whose name gives a hint at the premise of the game. This idea is strengthened by the Demo trailer shown at the Critical Reflex Time Showcase, which shows monstrous aliens infecting the world. Find out more about the game on Xbox on PC, and Steam where the demo’s located.
It all starts with the first person protagonist’s apartment, which has a “Cracked wall” this wall is the origin of all his problems, at least in this trailer. The trailer notes “I HAVE NO IDEA WHY MY WALL IS CRACKED LIKE THIS,” furthering the mystery of the cracked wall. This mystery continues as the cracked wall widens and opens as the protagonist takes a closer look, with the tiles falling off as it get deeper. There’s a radio, and a journal filled with scientific notes. Then the trailer shows a newspaper discussing a giant hole in the earth, from there sketches of monstrous creatures are displayed, each having sharp, long limbs and arched positions. The images of the creature also are shared with an apartment building. As the notetaker measures the difference in height between a human, an apartment building and one of the monsters itself. Revealing that one of the creatures is about ½ times bigger than a building.
From a balcony the narrator looks at another npc, then down at the road where a big red splatter of what might be blood is spread out like in a crime scene. People come to look at it and the sky flickers between black and red. The protagonist goes back to his place, and to the cracked wall, this time he reaches inside it, and the imagery of a hand failing to open a door plays. When he pulls it out he’s armless and there’s blood all over. Whatever was inside the wall ate his hand. As he showers, he brings the same hand up and instead of a red stump is a bright red hand. The hand mutates and weird connections form on it, signifying its inhumanness. Men come knocking at a door, and the protagonist goes back out to the balcony, looking at the red filled world and creatures walking through it.
